Responsibilities:
Provides legal services related to real estate contracts within an assigned Baker Hughes division or region of the world. Reviews, drafts, and modifies real estate contracts to comply with company contracting guidelines, and prepares associated documentation and advice. Updates contracts database with entries for work performed and review status, and prepares periodic reports. Negotiates routine contract revisions. Provides basic risk assessments and advice regarding routine contractual risk issues. Communicates with division personnel regarding contracting policies, procedures and processes. May conduct contract training seminars for company sales and marketing personnel and other departments. May assist in training new hires in real estate department. Handles special projects, as assigned.
Skill Requirements:
Advanced PC Skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Detail oriented and results focused. Strong negotiating skills. Working knowledge of industry and customers. Experience working with internal and external customers as related to real estate contracts administration. Understanding of real estate law, contract law and related legal concepts including practical application in a business environment. Understanding of business and cultural environment and customs across assigned region. Ability to work independently and make decisions. Commitment to customer service, and to working in a team oriented environment. Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to think analytically and creatively. Ability to travel. Bilingual a plus.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. 4 - 6 years relevant real estate experience required, preferably in contract review and negotiation or related legal background. Industry experience also preferred. An Advanced degree or Law degree is a plus.
