Qualifications
- A passion for technology and international cultures
- Excellent English communication skills, both in writing and in speaking
- Advanced knowledge of software such as Microsoft Word and Excel, Lotus Notes (training provided), and research tools and databases
- A self-starting, charismatic and industrious attitude
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and meet deadlines
- Localization Engineer candidates should have prior knowledge of Translation Memory technology such as TRADOS, knowledge of software applications and understanding of major computer languages, and the ability to implement QA methodology and software development methods and procedures
- Desktop Publisher candidates should be expert users of Adobe FrameMaker and be accomplished in the use of additional publishing software applications, including QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and/or Acrobat (experience with online help systems, screen capture and animation creation a plus)
- Localization industry experience (not absolutely required, but extremely helpful)
New Business Account Manager Duties
- Work as part of a dynamic sales and telemarketing team
- Research and identify promising international companies
- Generate $1-2 million per year in new business
- Initiate relationships with executives, either by speaking or writing
- Produce pricing spreadsheets and proposals
- Write and give presentations to prospects and customers
- Increase the revenue and profit of these relationships
Account Coordinator Duties
- Assist with managing and expanding current customer relationships
- Coordinate customer needs with account managers, project managers and other staff
- Process analysis requests and write quotes
- Participate in client calls and meetings
- Provide other support as needed
Project Coordinator/Project Manager Duties
- Coordinate localization projects, lasting from a few hours to a few months
- Select and lead project team members (translators, engineers, publishers, etc.)
- Create and manager project budgets and schedules
- Prepare project status reports for clients and colleagues
- Use databases, spreadsheets and other tools to track projects
- Grow SimulTrans by increasing the revenue, profit and happiness of customers
Localization Engineer Duties
- Work on complex problems where analysis requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors
- Analyze projects to determine time requirements, recommend work design, and identify localization issues
- Complete localization testing on project components
- Comply with established QA standards
- Prepare files pre/post-translation
- Provide technical support for translators, project managers, and account managers
- Perform Translation Memory Maintenance (primarily Trados Translation Suite)
- Communicate with engineering and project management staff on project progress and issues
Desktop Publisher Duties
- Analyze client materials and specifications prior to starting production work to identify publishing issues
- Reproduce text in multiple languages in various Macintosh and Windows desktop publishing applications
- Prepare guidelines and kits for contractors
- Review and correct deliverables created by other publishers
- Create templates and processes to use with publishing applications
- Edit screen captures and other graphic materials
- Estimate scope of work in sales support and project planning assistance
- Assist in the evaluation of free-lance and in-house publishing applicants

Compensation and Benefits
Compensation depends on skills and experience. Account Managers receive a base salary in addition to commission on orders won and bonuses.
