Manage Operate team of 100+ people
Work closely and maintains strong relationship with development teams
Manage and support non-production environments.
Setup and agree Release Management process and ensure development team adheres to this process. Release new versions into production environment.
Manage Permit To Operate – checklist to ensure application is “production ready”, in particular to ensure development teams have considered requirements to ensure application can be easily supported.
Works with infrastructure teams and development teams to plan infrastructure requirements and capacity based on future business volumes.
Work with the production team to ensure application and future releases are fully monitored and run book and troubleshooting documentation is supplied to Production Team.
Owns compliance to change management, and security policies.
Serve as a point of escalation for technical issues for the Production Team.
Budget and financial responsiblities.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Experience:
Successful management and/or operations experience, related to a technology or software field
Excellent communication and relationship skills – will need to maintain strong relationships with managers of other groups, including: development teams, vendor, Production Team, other Application Aligned Teams and Infrastructure teams.
People management skills –Conducts performance reviews, appraisals and personal development planning for team members
Process Improvement experience – will ensure team is constantly working with development team, Production Team and other to improve processes, increase stability and reduce costs. Drives innovation in own team and across the whole group.
College degree, or specialized training or equivalent work experience
IT operations hands on management
Experience in understanding systems and applications, as well as systems design
Planning & budgetary experience.
Logical approach, ability to solve problems, sometimes under pressure.
Bachelor's in Business or Technology related degree
Strong leadership and project management skills
Expertise in communications both written and verbal including presentations to senior management teams on regular basis
Ability to multi-task and adapt to a rapidly changing environment
Demonstrated ability to design and execute strategies
Uses technology effectively for administrative, instructional, and communications functions
Experience of supporting applications in an Investment Bank or other real-time, high availability environment.
