Paragon Space Development Corporation, headquartered in Tucson, AZ, is looking for a aerospace design engineer for our Houston office.

You enjoy learning. You are a degreed engineer ranging from a bachelors to doctorate with experience ranging from 1-100 years. Your knowledge of thermal control systems (TCS) or environmental control and life support systems (ECLSS) is particularly valuable to our team. You are a US Citizen and have the ability to pass a security clearance if required. You are liked by your coworkers and supervisors, you are confident in your abilities and you have a passion for what you do. Your interest in your (and our) success makes you humble and willing to listen and learn. We know that you won't have all of these, but depending on your area of expertise, some of the key words that will be listed on your resume include: Mechanical design, Thermal Desktop or equivalent package such as SINDA-G, TAM, ECLSS, CFX, CFD, Pro-E, Solidworks, NASA, DOD, spaceflight hardware, spacecraft systems, Systems Engineering Requirements Traceability software a plus (DOORs, Cradle, CORE**)


Paragon engineers work on a variety of projects. Your ability to contribute in any of the following areas makes you valuable to our team:




Designing the ECLSS and TCS for manned and unmanned spacecraft




Developing requirements and preliminary design of key components for a next-generation space suit




Specifying component performance requirements and developing the master equipment list for spacecraft ECLSS and TCS




Laying out the ducting and plumbing for new spacecraft using commercial 3-D modeling software




Developing schematics and solid models of the next generation of space cargo vehicles




Developing standardized designs of environmental control and life support systems and thermal control systems for commercial spacecraft




Performing thermal, structural, and fluid flow analysis of ECLSS and TCS for new spacecraft




Developing and reviewing plans to manufacture, test, and verify the operation of new spacecraft life support and thermal control systems.




This position is looking specifically for someone with the following qualifications:


Responsible for the highly organized and methodical design of ducting and plumbing designs for spacecraft. The candidate will have experience in complex-shape drawings of ducting and plumbing assemblies including all manufacturing and inspection notes. Experience in producing ducting and plumbing drawings for aircraft or spacecraft. Able to determine the best methods of joining (brazing, welding), endfitting attachment, heater strip attachments, insulation attachment and integration of sensors (pressure, temperature). Must be able to design with thermal and mechanical constraints in mind. Experience with known duct and piping material suppliers a plus. Highly organized to produce 150-250 individual drawings. Knowledge of Pro-E or other advance solid modeling program. Ability to work with Senior Engineering staff in formulating requirements and with vendors and customers. Some extended travel required. Candidates MUST be US Citizens
