We are a large size downtown Houston lawfirm looking to fill the position of Accounting Manager. This position will oversee a staff of approximately 20 people including oversight of the accounting supervisors and the accounting office.
The position is responsible for:
* Developing and enforcing accounting policies & procedures
* Accounts Payable
* Lockbox Operations
* Producing monthly reports, charts & graphs
* Income & Expense statement tracking & preparation
* Compliance with firm home office audit recommendations
* Managing a diverse staff
* Developing the annual budget
The successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
* Four Year Degree In Accounting From An Accredited University
* CPA Preferred, But Not Required - Masters In Accounting A Plus
* At Least 2 Years Supervisory/Management Experience
* Excellent Microsoft Office Skills Including Excel
* Excellent Quickbooks Skills
* Strong Exposure To Working With Oracle Based Databases
* Ability To Produce High Quality PowerPoint Presentations
* Strong Communication Skills
* Excellent People Skills
* Ability To Interact Well With High Profile People
The salary range on this position is $40k to $55k plus a potential annual performance bonus. The salary offered will depend upon the candidate's background, education and qualifications. (The annual performance bonus is not guaranteed and is based solely on merit and profitability of the firm. However, the firm did pay a performance bonus to top employees in 2005, 2006 and 2007.)
Our firm also offers health and dental insurance benefits as well as other insurance benefits and a 401k. The firm matches 50% of employee contributions to the 401k up to 6% of the employee's salary. We also offer credit union membership for all employees.
