Maintains the Land Information System's division of interest module which interfaces with Accounting providing for working and royalty division of interest, ownership, and other pertinent data.
Monitors production reports.
Reviews and interprets pooling, unit and unit operating agreements, farm-out/ins, leases and associated title opinions in developing division orders and /or divisions of interest ensuring proper payment of royalty on new and existing producing properties while minimizing exposure to interest penalties, fines and corporate liability.
Reviews and interprets mineral title ownership and title opinions, deeds, wills, and all other legal documents; and directs proper changes of ownership for both working and royalty interest revenue disbursement.
Resolves complex administrative problems with partners independently.
Upon request of manager, may provide training and mentoring to less experienced division order analysts and perform all other duties as assigned by manager.
Coordinates with land personnel to obtain title opinions, survey plats, conservation orders, or other documentation required to address title curative issues.
Coordinates with gas and crude oil purchasers to ensure proper documentation and master file set-up.
Advises affected departments regarding lease and contract obligations required to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and Company standards.
Familiar with contract limitations and relevant legal constraints, including the handling of exemptions and post production costs.
Provides guidance for divestiture due diligence conducted in conjunction with capitalization of company assets while coordinating with buyers to ensure assumption of lease obligations.
Education / Skills:
Knowledge of Excalibur Land System or similar computerized lease record system.
Ability to analyze contracts and agreements affecting leases.
Ability to utilize title opinions for determining lease ownership.
College degree or equivalent, plus 4 -6 years of relevant work experience.
Counsels attorneys, the public, working and royalty interest owners regarding company documentation requirements for payment of royalties.
Controls the suspense of royalty and working interest accounts directing Accounting on their release or escheatment.
Key Performance Situations:
Analyzes, sets up and maintains ownership decks in Excalibur; and prepares and distributes division orders and transfer orders to enable payments to leaseholders, royalty owners and payments or billings to partners.
